Villa Caletas
So… many of you have heard me raving about a beautiful spot called Villa Caletas.
It’s not far from where we stayed on our first trip to Costa Rica (near Punta Leona) and after hearing about it from friends, we went to check it out.
Now we recommend it to anyone who will listen.
It’s actually Hotel Villa Caletas, and if you have the financial freedom to do so, it’s an absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel to stay at. They have a mountaintop infinity pool and a wonderful 5 star french restaurant that looks down from the top of the mountain and gives a view all the way across the Gulf of Nicoya. We have eaten there and the food was absolutely amazing, but it is pricey so we save it for special occasions.
If your budget (like ours) is a little more restrictive, I would recommend a visit during Happy Hour….that’s between 4 and 6 (I believe), when everyone’s thoughts turn to the beautiful colours of the sunset….and THAT’S when Villa Caletas shines the brightest…
