Hanging with the Yankees

Okay, technically they are Dutch Yankees, but that seemed like a strange title for a blog post…

In my last post, I shared some information about our first ‘touristy destination’. I will do a separate post about our last ‘touristy destination’ which was Carara National Park, but in the middle we did a bunch of little things and we took a LOT of photos.

When you live in a place as beautiful as we do….almost every photo is so pretty that you want to share…so that’s what I am going to do…

You will find in the following gallery pictures of

Villa Caletas (of course), El Pelicano in Herradura, the seafood restaurant near their hotel in San Jose, Bejuco Beach in Esterillos, La Fiesta Del Mariscos on Playa Galardonada , and the beach behind Vida Hermosa, as well as the area above Jaco where the Jaco sign is.

There are also a few that Robert and Marion sent that they had taken while on the Waterfall tour with Neofauna…

WHEW!

It’s a lot of photos but we had a great time wandering the area and showing it off…

When you consider that we didn’t travel any more than an hour in either direction from our home in Herradura, it should be easy to see why we love it here.

As the season winds down and the crowds head back home, I will be making an attempt to range father afield so that I can check out other tourist destinations.

I promise to load you down with photos and insights so that if/when, you decide to explore Costa Rica and all that it has to offer, you will have an idea of which things you may want to explore for yourself.

On my bucket list is:

The Arenal Volcano and one of the nearby Hot Springs,

Whitewater rafting on the Pecuare River (not sure if I can talk Chris into that one)

Horseback Riding

A coffee plantaion tour

…and repelling down a waterfall.

Wait, I know what you are thinking…

I’m still not great with heights BUT I love waterfalls and it looks like fun so if I can give it a try …I’m going to…before I get to old to try. There is a good chance that I will be doing this one solo too…but I think it will be a cool experience.

What kind of excursions do you want to try? Leave a comment at the end of the post so I can check those out as possibilities too!

In the meantime, I’m heading out to the pool for some ‘aquatic meditation’

Toodles for now and Pura Vida!
